Identifying a massive food wastage problem is one thing, converting it into BEER is likened to genius.
The founders of London-based brewery Toast Ale, have done exactly that.
Their infographic below shows the extent of the wastage.
Sandwich factories discard the heel and first slice of every loaf – that’s 17% of the loaf – because we don’t buy sandwiches made with crusts. A single sandwich factory discards 13,000 slices of fresh bread every day.

They also reveal “Sandwich factories discard the heel and first slice of every loaf – that’s 17% of the loaf – because we don’t buy sandwiches made with crusts. A single sandwich factory discards 13,000 slices of fresh bread every day. “
If that isn’t genius, we don’t know what is. Kudos, Toast Ale!
